International Russian Choral Assemblies
Paris - Brussels
10 - 11 October 2020 - Paris
(live and on-line event)
Choral music, in all its varieties, is an important part of the Russian cultural identity. It helps to preserve and promote Russian language and culture, as well as to establish artistic relations with other countries and cultures. The Russian Choirs’ Assembly aims to the attention of the French and European public by performing different less known traditions and repertoire, from the sacred music and opera extracts, to romances and popular songs, in the timespan between the 18th and 20th centuries.
The Assembly also aims to create a forum that would give the opportunity for the choir members and directors to hold discussions around the subjects of mutual interests, also allowing for the display and public appreciation of their work. The intention of the organizational committee is to uphold the regular meetings, as the tradition established by the first Assembly, and to develop a network aimed at the preservation and spreading of the traditions of Russian choral music.
